“...we preach Christ crucified (1 Cor.1:23). “…we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus” (Col.1:28).

“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him” Heb.10:38.

The doctrine of faith is holy in its nature and tendency, leading men to repent of sin and hate it, to love and obey God, and to lead a sober, righteous, and godly life, by which it can be distinguished from all false doctrines. The grace of faith is most holy. It works by love, purifies every heart, and overcomes the worldly pleasures. It is distinguished from false and dead faith. Thus the consistency, stability, and circumspection of the believer’s conduct will continually advance. They will adorn the gospel and glorify God and do well to others.

Our prayers will prevail, when we pray in the Holy Spirit under the guidance and influence of the Holy Spirit and according to the rule of His Word, with faith, fervency, and constant persevering importunity. And a believing expectation of eternal life will arm us against the snares of sin; lively faith in this blessed hope will help us to mortify our worldly life.
